چکیده
Abstract. Iodide chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CIMS) is a common analytical tool used in both laboratory and field experiments to measure large suite of atmospherically relevant compounds. Here, we describe systematic ion molecule reactor (IMR) temperature dependence iodide CIMS analyte sensitivity for wide range analytes experiments. Weakly bound clusters, such as HCl, HONO, HCOOH, HCN, phenol, 2-nitrophenol, acyl peroxynitrate (PAN) detected via the peroxy radical cluster, all exhibit strong IMR ranging from ?3.4 % ?C?1 5.9 (from 37 47 ?C). Strongly Br2, N2O5, ClNO2, PAN carboxylate anion, little no 0.2 ?0.9 The relationships weakly clusters provide an estimate net reaction enthalpy, comparison with database values indicates that these are thermal equilibrium. Ground site HCOOH data collected summer 2021 Pasadena (CA) corrected show reversal diel cycle, emphasizing importance this correction (35±6 during day, -26±2 at night). Finally, recommend two approaches minimize effect field, namely heating or cooling IMR; latter technique has added benefit improving absolute sensitivity.

متن کاملSelective Reagents for Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry
Much of the power of chemical ionization mass spectrometry stems from the finding that the characteristics of the Cl mass spectrum produced is dependent on both the nature of the reagent gas and the type of ion-molecule reaction used to ionize the sample. Different structural information can be obtained with different reagent gases. As a consequence, it is possible to control the type and quant...
متن کاملAmmonia chemical ionization mass spectrometry of intact diacyl phosphatidylcholine.
Mass spectra have been obtained on molecular species of intact diacyl phosphatidylcholine by means of ammonia gas-induced chemical ionization. MH(+) ions were observed with all species, and other prominent ions in the spectra identified the fatty acid composition. Spectra of phosphatidylcholine containing deuterated methyl groups and spectra obtained using [(15)N]ammonia have allowed identifica...

Permethylated derivatives of N-acetylneuraminic acid-containing GM3, N-glycolylneuraminic acid-containing GM3, GD1a, and GD1b, were analyzed by direct inlet ammonia chemical ionization (CI) mass spectrometry. These compounds were found to yield simple fragmentations, prominent fragment ions in the high mass region, and characteristic fragment ions corresponding to the cleavage of glycosidic lin...
متن کاملCharacterization of glycosphingolipids by direct inlet chemical ionization mass spectrometry.
Permethylated derivatives of cerebrosides and ceramide di-, tri-, tetra-, and penta-hexosides were analyzed by the direct inlet ammonia chemical ionization (CI) mass spectrometry. In the CI mass spectra, the fragment ions produced by the loss of methanol from the protonated molecular ion were observed in all of the glycosphingolipids. Other fragment ions due to the cleavage of glycosidic moiety...
