Tellurium retention by containment spray system

چکیده

A containment spray system is used to mitigate the source term from building environment as part of severe accident management actions. Tellurium one volatile fission products and many tellurium isotopes decay into iodine, which causes a threat public due its radiotoxicity build-up in thyroid gland. The removal efficiency model against species formed under conditions was investigated with experiments MELCOR simulations. results indicated efficient aerosols air atmosphere, whereas decrease observed nitrogen atmosphere. Gaseous were not significant amounts during therefore, different chemistry could be accurately analysed. However, alkaline chemicals solution seemed form airborne particles, increasing overall aerosol transport process independently CsI or Te transport.
