TEAD family transcription factors in development and disease

چکیده

ABSTRACT The balance between stem cell potency and lineage specification entails the integration of both extrinsic intrinsic cues, which ultimately influence gene expression through activity transcription factors. One example this is provided by Hippo signalling pathway, plays a central role in regulating organ size during development. pathway mediated transcriptional co-factors Yes-associated protein (YAP) co-activator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), interact TEA domain (TEAD) proteins to regulate expression. Although roles YAP TAZ have been intensively studied, played TEAD are less well understood. Recent studies begun address this, revealing that TEADs progenitor self-renewal differentiation throughout various stages Furthermore, it becoming apparent other biology. This Primer provides an overview development, focusing on their as within developmental, homeostatic disease contexts.

Targeting the Hippo Pathway and Cancer through the TEAD Family of Transcription Factors

The Hippo pathway is a critical transcriptional signaling pathway that regulates cell growth, proliferation and organ development. The transcriptional enhanced associate domain (TEAD) protein family consists of four paralogous transcription factors that function to modulate gene expression in response to the Hippo signaling pathway. Transcriptional activation of these proteins occurs upon bindi...

MCAT elements and the TEF-1 family of transcription factors in muscle development and disease.

MCAT elements are located in the promoter-enhancer regions of cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle-specific genes including cardiac troponin T, beta-myosin heavy chain, smooth muscle alpha-actin, and skeletal alpha-actin, and play a key role in the regulation of these genes during muscle development and disease. The binding factors of MCAT elements are members of the transcriptional enhancer fa...

Tead and AP1 Coordinate Transcription and Motility.

The Tead family transcription factors are the major intracellular mediators of the Hippo-Yap pathway. Despite the importance of Hippo signaling in tumorigenesis, Tead-dependent downstream oncogenic programs and target genes in cancer cells remain poorly understood. Here, we characterize Tead4-mediated transcriptional networks in a diverse range of cancer cells, including neuroblastoma, colorect...

Fox transcription factors: from development to disease.

Forkhead box (Fox) transcription factors are evolutionarily conserved in organisms ranging from yeast to humans. They regulate diverse biological processes both during development and throughout adult life. Mutations in many Fox genes are associated with human disease and, as such, various animal models have been generated to study the function of these transcription factors in mechanistic deta...

proficiency level and factors fostering reticence in efl learners

according to cheng (1999), in recent esl/efl literature, asian (especially east asian) learners of english as a foreign/second language have been arguably reported as reticent and passive learners. the most common allegations are that these students are reluctant to participate in classroom discourse; they are unwilling to give responses; they do not ask questions; and they are passive and over...
