TAXONOMIC CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GENUS DIANTHUS (CARYOPHYLLACEAE) FROM TURKEY

According to the related literature and some taxonomic websites, it was proven that Dianthus liboschitzianus D. erinaceus (var. erinaceus) are valid names, which accepted as a synonym. It determined var. alpinus not is taxon, synonym under webbianus. Furthermore, lectotypes were for masmenaeus glabrescens, typed by being based on more than one specimen.

During the taxonomic revision of the Turkish Dianthus species, specimens collected from Bilecik, Seben (Bolu), and Nallıhan (Ankara) were discovered that represent a new species. Its description, images, chorology, ecology, and threat category are provided. It was compared with a closely related species, Dianthuszonatus, and differences are based on its general morphology and seed micromorphology.
