Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a natural biopolymer metabolized by Gram-negative bacteria strains in carbon- and nitrogen-rich media. Due to its purity, biodegradability, biocompatibility outstanding mechanical properties, it considered be an exceptional biomaterial with versatile scientific commercial applications. The current review presents data concerning the assembly, structural properties behavior of specific biosystems based on bacteria-produced polysaccharides derived from plant cell walls. cellulose, hemicellulose, their binary composites ternary pectin are described respect obtained materials. one-component composite films discussed type used, origin applied pretreatments, as well various methodological approaches bacterial synthesis. This work focused entirely relationship between production methods composition, resulting materials, constitutes universal source knowledge for specialists fields science industry.
