چکیده

Cardiac magnetic resonance tomography is widely used method in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. In last decade, new techniques have been developed to obtain quantitative parameters myocardial changes. T1 and T2 mapping are part routine CMRT protocol allow direct quantification relaxation times myocardium as well calculation extracellular volume. These important biomarkers both for various diseases monitoring treatment follow-up determining prognosis. The purpose this article provide a brief overview basic principles techniques, their main applications different types cardiomyopathies.

Myocardial T1 and T2 Mapping: Techniques and Clinical Applications

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is widely used in various medical fields related to cardiovascular diseases. Rapid technological innovations in magnetic resonance imaging in recent times have resulted in the development of new techniques for CMR imaging. T1 and T2 image mapping sequences enable the direct quantification of T1, T2, and extracellular volume fraction (ECV) values of the m...

Joint myocardial T1 and T2 mapping

Background Recent studies suggest that quantitative myocardial T1 mapping allows assessment of focal and diffuse fibrosis in the myocardium [1]. Quantitative T2 mapping has also been proposed to overcome challenges associated with T2 weighted imaging [2]. These maps are traditionally acquired with different sequences, necessitating image registration to evaluate them jointly. A sequence that ca...

Single Scan T1 and T2* Mapping without Flip Angle Correction

Introduction: Quantitative magnetic resonance imaging is a powerful tool for investigating a large variety of biological phenomena. Thus, big efforts have been made during the recent years in order to develop fast methods for the quantitative assessment of various MR parameters. Two very important parameters are the T1 and T2* relaxation times. Here a new method for the simultaneous measurement...

Radiofrequency Ablation of Thyroid Nodules: Basic Principles and Clinical Application

Radiofrequency (RF) ablation has been gaining popularity as a minimally invasive treatment for benign thyroid nodules regardless of the extent of the solid component. RF ablation of benign nodules demonstrated volume reductions of 33-58% after one month and 51-85% after six months, while solving nodule-related clinical problems. RF ablation has recently shown positive short-term results for loc...
