Bishop-Phelps type Theorem for Normed Cones
In this paper the notion of support points of convex sets in normed cones is introduced and it is shown that in a continuous normed cone, under the appropriate conditions, the set of support points of a bounded Scott-closed convex set is nonempty. We also present a Bishop-Phelps type Theorem for normed cones.
متن کاملCommon fixed point theorem for nonexpansive type single valued mappings
The aim of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem for nonexpansive type single valued mappings which include both continuous and discontinuous mappings by relaxing the condition of continuity by weak reciprocally continuous mapping. Our result is generalize and extends the corresponding result of Jhade et al. [P.K. Jhade, A.S. Saluja and R. Kushwah, Coincidence and fixed points of ...
متن کاملA Fiber Dimension Theorem for Essential and Canonical Dimension
The well-known fiber dimension theorem in algebraic geometry says that for every morphism f : X → Y of integral schemes of finite type, the dimension of every fiber of f is at least dimX−dimY . This has recently been generalized by P. Brosnan, Z. Reichstein and A. Vistoli to certain morphisms of algebraic stacks f : X → Y , where the usual dimension is replaced by essential dimension. We will p...
متن کاملA Concentration Theorem for Projections
Suppose the random vector X ∈ R has mean zero and finite second moments. We show that there is a precise sense in which almost all linear projections of X into R (for d < D) look like a scale-mixture of spherical Gaussians—specifically, a mixture of distributions N(0, σ2Id) where the σ values follow the same distribution as ‖X‖/ √ D. The extent of this effect depends upon the ratio of d to D, a...
متن کاملOn a Possible Continuous Analogue of the Szpilrajn Theorem and its Strengthening by Dushnik and Miller
The Szpilrajn theorem and its strengthening by Dushnik and Miller belong to the most quoted theorems in many fields of pure and applied mathematics as, for instance, order theory, mathematical logic, computer sciences, mathematical social sciences, mathematical economics, computability theory and fuzzy mathematics. The Szpilrajn theorem states that every partial order can be refined or extended...
