چکیده
Integrated access and backhaul (IAB) facilitates cost-effective deployment of millimeter wave (mmWave) cellular networks through multihop self-backhauling. Full-duplex (FD) technology, particularly for mmWave systems, is a potential means to overcome latency throughput challenges faced by IAB networks. We derive practical tractable constraints using queueing theory formulate network utility maximization problem evaluate both full-duplex (FD)-IAB half-duplex (HD)-IAB use this characterize the network-level improvements seen when upgrading from conventional HD nodes FD ones deriving closed-form expressions (i) gain FD-IAB over HD-IAB (ii) maximum number hops that HD- can support while satisfying targets. Extensive simulations illustrate facilitate reduced latency, higher throughput, deeper networks, fairer service. Compared HD-IAB, improve $8\times $ reduce notation="LaTeX">$4\times fourth-hop user. In fact, with capability allow targets its counterpart fundamentally cannot meet. The gains are more profound users further donor be achieved even residual self-interference significantly above noise floor.

Beamforming Based Full-Duplex for Millimeter-Wave Communication
In this paper, we study beamforming based full-duplex (FD) systems in millimeter-wave (mmWave) communications. A joint transmission and reception (Tx/Rx) beamforming problem is formulated to maximize the achievable rate by mitigating self-interference (SI). Since the optimal solution is difficult to find due to the non-convexity of the objective function, suboptimal schemes are proposed in this...
متن کاملRethinking of the Antenna-circuit Boundary for Enabling Millimeter-wave Full-duplex Wireless Communication
This report addresses the research progress towards enabling millimeter-wave full-duplex wireless communication. Millimeter-wave technology has gained significant interest for short-range wireless personal area networks (WPANs), vehicular radar and next generation (5G) cellular communication in the recent years. Full-duplex is another emergent technology which can theoretically double the data ...
متن کاملFull-Duplex WiFi Networks
The device in conventional half-duplex WiFi networks cannot perform carrier sensing while in data transmission; thus it suffers from long collision duration. To mitigate this problem, this chapter introduces full-duplex (FD) technology into WiFi networks. A novel CSMA/CD protocol design is first presented for singlechannel FD-WiFi, which facilitates continuous carrier sensing and transmission s...
