Synthesis of Silver (I) Coordination of Aspirinate Azo Ligands as Potential Antibacterial Agents

The rise of antimicrobial resistance for infectious bacteria has become an alarming issue to human health. New drugs are in dire need and pivotal overcome this issue. In study, aspirinate azo ligands bearing different halogens L1-5 been prepared via diazo-coupling reaction. were coordinated with silver, Ag (I) metal produce aspirin-azo complexes C1-5. antibacterial properties C1-5 evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus E scherichia coli using turbidimetric kinetic method. showed comparable growth inhibition activity towards E. (MIC 82-105 ppm) S . 80-105 compared 83-200 ppm), (80-131 ampicillin 93 124 ppm, respectively). excellent bacterial both indicates the potential their as new agents, which significantly benefit pharmaceutical industries.
