چکیده

Herein, we report for the first time synthesis of preformed bimetallic Pd-Rh nanoparticles with different Pd:Rh ratios (nominal molar ratio: 80–20, 60–40, 40–60, 20–80) and corresponding Pd Rh monometallic ones by sol immobilization using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as protecting agent NaBH4 reducing agent, carbon nanofibers high graphitization degree (HHT) desired support. The synthesized catalysts were characterized means Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). TEM shows that average particle size is range 3–4 nm, presence few large agglomerated nanoparticles. For catalysts, EDX-STEM analysis individual demonstrated random-alloyed even in all cases content lower than nominal one (calculated 90–10, 69–31, 49–51, 40–60). catalytic performance was evaluated liquid phase dehydrogenation formic acid to H2. It found ratio strongly influences performance. Pd-rich more active Rh-rich ones, highest activity observed Pd90:Rh10 (1792 h?1), whereas Pd69:Rh31 (921 h?1) resulted most stable during recycling tests. Finally, chosen a representative sample liquid-phase hydrogenation muconic hydrogen donor, showing good yield adipic acid.

DNA-directed growth of ultrafine CoAuPd nanoparticles on graphene as efficient catalysts for formic acid dehydrogenation.

Ultrafine and well dispersed CoAuPd nanoparticles grown on a DNA-reduced-graphene-oxide (DNA-rGO) composite have been successfully synthesized using a DNA-directed method. The resultant CoAuPd/DNA-rGO composite exhibits high activity and 100% H2 selectivity toward the dehydrogenation of formic acid without any additive at 298 K.

A prolific catalyst for dehydrogenation of neat formic acid

Formic acid is a promising energy carrier for on-demand hydrogen generation. Because the reverse reaction is also feasible, formic acid is a form of stored hydrogen. Here we present a robust, reusable iridium catalyst that enables hydrogen gas release from neat formic acid. This catalysis works under mild conditions in the presence of air, is highly selective and affords millions of turnovers. ...

Rapid Synthesis of Rhodium–Palladium Alloy Nanocatalysts

Noble metals are widely used as catalysts in a variety of key industrial processes. In particular, rhodium is used to catalyze the reduction of NOx to N2 and O2 in exhaust gas abatement and is also used in the conversion of bulk hydrocarbon feedstocks and syngas into more highly oxygenated hydrocarbons (e.g. , hydroformylation). 2] Palladium also plays a myriad of critical roles, including CO-t...

Butylphenyl-functionalized palladium nanoparticles as effective catalysts for the electrooxidation of formic acid.

Monodisperse butylphenyl-functionalized palladium (Pd-BP, dia. 2.24 nm) nanoparticles were synthesized through co-reduction of butylphenyldiazonium and H(2)PdCl(4) by NaBH(4). Because of this unique surface functionalization and a high specific electrochemical surface area (122 m(2) g(-1)), the Pd-BP nanoparticles exhibited a mass activity ∼4.5 times that of commercial Pd black for HCOOH electr...

Synthesis of Bimetallic Platinum Nanoparticles for Biosensors

The use of magnetic nanomaterials in biosensing applications is growing as a consequence of their remarkable properties; but controlling the composition and shape of metallic nanoalloys is problematic when more than one precursor is required for wet chemistry synthesis. We have developed a successful simultaneous reduction method for preparation of near-spherical platinum-based nanoalloys conta...
