Synthesis, Mechanical, and Tribological Performance Analysis of Stir-Casted AA7079: ZrO2 + Si3N4 Hybrid Composites by Taguchi Route

Currently, the aluminum alloys are utilized more in level of all industries for different applications; furthermore, need high-strength making innovative components. For those reasons, many researchers hope to prepare hybrid metal matrix composites at various composition levels. In this experimental work, we intended such as alloy 7079 with reinforcement ZrO2 + Si3N4 through stir-casting process. Major findings optimize process, can be continually conduct wear test and evaluate microhardness stir-casted specimens. Optimization process parameters is a preliminary work research by Taguchi tool. The chosen % (0%, 4%, 8%, 12%), agitation speed (450 rpm, 500 550 600 rpm), time (15 min, 20 min. 25 30 min), molten temperature (700°C, 750°C, 800°C, 850°C). prepared materials tested analysis analysis, Pin-on-Disc tester Vickers hardness tester, respectively. Wear optimized, minimum rate evaluated, also worn-out surfaces examined SEM analysis.
