Synthesis and properties of polyurethane acrylate oligomer based on polycaprolactone diol

Abstract The polycaprolactone diol (PCL diol) was prepared by ring-opening polymerization method, with hydroquinone bis(2-hydroxyethyl) ether as the reactive initiator and ε-caprolactone monomer. polyurethane acrylate (PUA) self-made PCL diol. Then, PUA used to prepare ultraviolet curable coatings. structure molecular weight of characterized Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gel-permeation chromatography, hydroxyl value titration. performance cured coating film thermogravimetric analysis scanning electron microscope. flexibility hardness were tested. results showed that narrow successfully synthesized. UV curing had optimal a 3H, 1.5 mm, abrasion resistance 0.028 g −1 , adhesion grade 1, all films good thermal properties.
