Synthesis and Photocatalytic Activity for Toluene Removal of CDs/TiO2 - Zeolite Y

Hydrothermally synthesized carbon nanodots (CDs) were impregnated on TiO2. The product (CDs/TiO2) was mechanically mixed with zeolite Y for application in toluene photocatalytic oxidation reaction under UV radiation. Material properties of the samples investigated by different methods. Toluene vapor chosen as a typical volatile organic compound to investigate performance CDs/TiO2 – photocatalyst when these technological parameters changed: concentration, gas flow rate, humidity and light intensity. In each reaction, only one parameter changed remaining conditions fixed. concentrations at beginning end analyzed use chromatography (GC). results show trends treatment catalyst, thereby providing specific explanations trends. experiments also that removal is highest concentration inlet 314 ppmv, rate 3 L/h, 60%, catalyst (CDs/TiO2 composite 70% weight) illuminated 4 lamps.
