Synthesis and fluorescence sensing of energetic materials using benzenesulfonic acid-doped polyaniline

The Fluorescence sensing technique for trace detection of High Energy Materials (HEMs) has gained more attention in recent times. In the present paper, interaction between fluorophore and HEMs is studied using spectroscopic electrochemical techniques. polyaniline (PANI) was functionalised by doping it with benzenesulfonic acid (BSA) to increase processability, mobility ?-electrons along decreased ?-stacking. It observed that upon solubility BSA-PANI increased, facilitating a higher quenching commercial explosives, i.e., RDX, CL-20, CL-20:RDX cocrystal. studies undertaken though fluorescence quenching, FTIR Resonance Raman shows benzenoid unit, polaron bipolaron nitrogen interact nitro groups form charge-transfer complex undergoing predominantly PET mechanism. LOD value found be least Cocrystal (1.876 × 10–5 M) when compared other 3.191 M (CL-20), 5.904 (RDX), 3.734 (PETN) indicating cocrystal can detected level. collaborative study cyclic voltammetry results revealed emeraldine salt (BSA-PANI) sensitive HEMs.
