چکیده
The microbial fuel cell (MFC) is an ecologically friendly alternative energy source. Due to the typically limited electron transfer in MFC systems, co-biocatalysts are necessary enhance their performance. Enzymes used as due superior ability generate energy, and system known enzymatic (EMFC). One of substrates that may be bagasse waste extracted from sugarcane. Saccharomyces cerevisiae enzyme glucose oxidase (GOx) serve breakdown sugarcane this study, which uses single-chamber EMFCs. In EMFC using extract employing S. biocatalyst co-biocatalyst, open circuit voltage was 0.56 V maximum power density 146.65 mW m-2, increase 10.4 times MFCs solely employed only yeast biocatalyst. addition, chemical oxygen demand (COD) reduction achieved by technology 75 %. pH samples treated with Saccharomyces GOx decreased 4.6 4.2. This research demonstrates adding co-biocatalyst boost performance traditional MFC.

متن کاملIncreased enzymatic hydrolysis of sugarcane bagasse from enzyme recycling
BACKGROUND Development of efficient methods for production of renewable fuels from lignocellulosic biomass is necessary to maximize yields and reduce operating costs. One of the main challenges to industrial application of the lignocellulosic conversion process is the high costs of cellulolytic enzymes. Recycling of enzymes may present a potential solution to alleviate this problem. In the pres...
