Synchronous Estelle: Just Another Synchronous Language?
Synchronous Estelle is a new language designed to specify distributed reactive systems. We have developed this new language, that tries to merge both asynchronous and synchronous paradigms, as an answer to some problems not solved with existing techniques. We will show its syntactic and semantic features, the way to obtain executable programs according to a specification, and some hints to perf...
متن کاملSynchronous Estelle: A Language to Specify Distributed Control Systems
Distributed systems are getting more and more popular in every field of computing. This is also true for reactive systems. Traditional techniques for developing reactive systems are not very suitable for developing distributed reactive systems, because they are based on synchrony hypothesis, and it can not be hold in a distributed system. It is necessary to develop new techniques to deal with d...
متن کاملThe SL Synchronous Language
We present a new synchronous programming language named SL based on Esterel, in which hypothesis about signal presences or absences are not allowed. Thus, one can decide that a signal was absent during one instant only at the end of this instant, and so reaction to this absence is delayed. Esterel \causality problems" are avoided at the price of replacing strong preemptions by weak ones. An ope...
متن کاملSynchronous Models of Language
In synchronous rewriting, the productions of two rewriting systems are paired and applied synchronously in the derivation of a pair of strings. We present a new synchronous rewriting system and argue that it can handle certain phenomena that are not covered by existing synchronous systems. We also prove some interesting formal/computational properties of our system.
متن کاملSynchronous Programs Testing Language (SPTL)
SPTL is a language designed to test applications developed for synchronous controllers. It makes possible to provide a specification of the software external environment. This specification can then be processed to generate test input sequences guided by directives such as profiles of use and scenarios. We introduce a definition and an overview of the language through a simple example of a reac...
