Symptom and Evidence: Feminism as a Form of Psychoanalysis

For about sixty years, feminism has been in a complicated relationship with psychoanalysis. On the one hand, psychoanalysis deals topics important to feminism, and many of its ideas could be rethought. other substantive contradictions between hinder their productive collaboration. This article proposes that problems faced by project feminist arise not so much from differences as similarities these two discourses. The view is based on basic foundations structure society understood same fashion psychoanalytic unconscious. Feminist discourse aims “capture” symptom offer it up for interpretation. At time, interpretive apparatus differs theory an internally coherent system prescriptions. So long successfully interpreted, political involvement something hopes achieve. Thus individual cases are taken analogous “conscious” prescriptives “unconscious”. In such way “collective” subject can formed.
