Symmetry relations for reflection and transmission coefficients of magneto-optic systems
In magneto-optic systems, Kerr and Faraday effects bring into play reflection and transmission matrices. Considering planar multilayer systems, we show that the elements of the reflection and transmission matrices obey general and simple relations valid whatever the geometry of the magneto-optic device may be. 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. متن کاملScale and Frequency Dependence of Reflection and Transmission Coefficients
Well-logs show that heterogeneities occur at many different spatial scales. In this paper, we want to characterize how waves are affected by these heterogeneities, and we study how reflection and transmission coefficients depend on temporal frequency and spatial scale. We use wavelet transformations to filter certain spatial scales from the velocity logs. The scale-filtered logs serve as input ...
متن کاملI Magneto - optic recording
With the continued advance in the design and production of small solid state lasers and associated optics, future systems designed to achieve very-high-density storage of digital information are likely to become increasingly dependent on sophisticated optical technology. Non-erasable storage systems that have been accepted for many years (WORM, CD-ROM and so on) show a continuous growth of appl...
متن کاملReflection and Transmission of Plane Waves at Micropolar Piezothermoelastic Solids
The present investigation analysis a problem of reflection and transmission at an interface of two micropolar orthotropic piezothermoelastic media. The basic equations and constitutive relations for micropolar orthotropic piezothermoelastic media for G-L theory are derived. The expressions for amplitude ratios corresponding to reflected and transmitted waves are derived analytically. The eff...
متن کاملMagneto-optic parametric oscillation.
We develop a model of large-signal steady-state magneto-optic parametric oscillation in the Faraday configuration of a singly resonant cavity. The conversion efficiency and the threshold and phase-matching conditions are discussed, and we show that tunable phase matching can be achieved by use of a static magnetic field, eliminating any walk-off effects.
