چکیده

Abstract We present a symmetry-based systematic approach to explore the structural and compositional richness of two-dimensional materials. use ‘combinatorial engine’ that constructs candidate compounds by occupying all possible Wyckoff positions for certain space group with combinations chemical elements. These are restricted imposing charge neutrality Pauling test electronegativities. The structures then pre-optimized specially crafted universal neural-network force-field, before final step geometry optimization using density-functional theory is performed. In this way we unveil an unprecedented variety materials, covering whole periodic table in more than 30 different stoichiometries form A n B m or C k . Among discovered structures, find examples can be built decorating nearly Platonic Archimedean tessellations as well their dual Laves Catalan tilings. also obtain rich, unexpected, polymorphism some specific compounds. further accelerate exploration materials employing machine-learning-accelerated prototype search, based on types search. total, around 6500 compounds, not previous available databases 2D distance convex hull thermodynamic stability smaller 250 meV/atom.

Computational Search for Novel Hard Chromium-Based Materials.

Nitrides, carbides, and borides of transition metals are an attractive class of hard materials. Our recent preliminary explorations of the binary chemical compounds indicated that chromium-based materials are among the hardest transition metal compounds. Motivated by this, here we explore in detail the binary Cr-B, Cr-C, and Cr-N systems using global optimization techniques. Calculated enthalpy...

Novel 2D-Inorganic Materials for Gas Sensing

Nowadays, modern technology is demanding more efficient gas sensors for advanced applications [1]. Consequently, there is a considerable effort towards the goal of high performance gas sensors based on novel sensing materials. Since the first report of graphene, thin two-dimensional (2D) inorganic nanomaterials with atomic or molecular thicknesses have attracted great research interest for gas ...

the search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

Bonding-restricted structure search for novel 2D materials with dispersed C2 dimers

Currently, the available algorithms for unbiased structure searches are primarily atom-based, where atoms are manipulated as the elementary units, and energy is used as the target function without any restrictions on the bonding of atoms. In fact, in many cases such as nanostructure-assembled materials, the structural units are nanoclusters. We report a study of a bonding-restricted structure s...
