چکیده

Water deficit or drought is the most important abiotic stress limiting plant growth performance and community development; this typical in Mediterranean area where plants are often severely permanently water limited. Such case of argan tree (Argania spinosa (L.) Skeels), one species affected by desertification global warming. To advance knowledge on how can withstand stress, inoculation with a native complex arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), composed mainly genus Glomus, was studied connection set physiological parameters. Under controlled conditions, inoculated non-inoculated seedlings were grown for 3 months under three regimens: 25%, 50%, 75% relative to field capacity used soil substrate. The results showed that had different abilities develop various applied limitations. AMF stimulated mineral nutrition imposed levels deficiency. Relative content (RWC) leaves, potential, stomatal conductance leaves general improvement compared ones. Soluble sugar proline contents significantly increased water-limiting conditions (25%). Similarly, oxidative enzyme (catalase, peroxidase, superoxide dismutase) activity drought-stressed seedlings. Non-inoculated highest accumulation these enzymes. Moreover, symbiosis establishment positively correlated terms growth, nutrition, soluble contents, enzymes activities. main from current study suggest improve ability A. tolerate enhancing transport high RWC potential leaves. Finally, alleviation destructive effects reactive oxygen modulated enzymatic scavenging activity. Hence, use technical process production highly recommended ecofriendly restoration strategies, aim producing quality capable tolerating stress.

Investigating the Role of Three Species of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Growth, Acid Phosphatase Enzyme Activity and Phenolic Compounds in Zinnia Plant under Drought Stress Conditions

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of three identified isolates of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on growth, acid phosphatase enzyme activity and phenolic compounds (phenol, flavonoid and anthocyanin) of zinnia plants (Zinnia elegans L.var. Magellan Red) under water stress conditions. A factorial (two factors) experiment was planned based on a completely randomized design (C...

Physio-biochemical and Enzymatic Responses of Sunflower to Drought Stress

Drought stress is a serious adverse factor that limits sunflower growth and productivity. The stress induces a range of physiological and biochemical responses in sunflower. So, evaluation of defense systems is important for producing resistant cultivars. In this study, physio-biochemical changes and antioxidant enzymes activitiesof six sunflower lines were evaluated under normal and irrigation...

Selecting Native Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi to Promote Cassava Growth and Increase Yield under Field Conditions

The use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (AMF) inoculation in sustainable agriculture is now widespread worldwide. Although the use of inoculants consisting of native AMF is highly recommended as an alternative to commercial ones, there is no strategy to allow the selection of efficient fungal species from natural communities. The objective of this study was (i) to select efficient native AMF s...

Glyphosate herbicide affects belowground interactions between earthworms and symbiotic mycorrhizal fungi in a model ecosystem

Herbicides containing glyphosate are widely used in agriculture and private gardens, however, surprisingly little is known on potential side effects on non-target soil organisms. In a greenhouse experiment with white clover we investigated, to what extent a globally-used glyphosate herbicide affects interactions between essential soil organisms such as earthworms and arbuscular mycorrhizal fung...
