Switching Modulation Strategies for Multilevel Inverter

There is always a need to create efficient and optimized converters deliver the best possible results achieve better THD profile in waveform output. One way by controlling switching of power switches using appropriate modulation schemes. While numerous works have been done proposing new strategies for multilevel inverters, this work will compare multicarrier PWM near-to-level control (NLC) In paper, variants, namely, PD-PWM, POD-PWM, APOD-PWM, are designed simulated. Their voltage spectrum performance discussed when applied single-phase 7, 9, 11-level cascaded inverters. Then NLC be similar inverter circuits. It shown that exhibits some superior performances compared PWM-based but with several drawbacks can optimized.
