Switching between stabilizing controllers
This paper deals with the problem of switching between several linear time-invariant (LTI) controllers—all of them capable of stabilizing a specific LTI process—in such a way that the stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed for any switching sequence. We show that it is possible to find realizations for any given family of controller transfer matrices so that the closed-loop system re...
متن کاملMaximally Robust Controllers for Multivariable
The set of all optimal controllers which maximize a robust stability radius for unstructured additive perturbations may be obtained using standard Hankel-norm approximation methods. These controllers guarantee robust stability for all perturbations which lie inside an open ball in the uncertainty space (say, of radius r1). Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for a perturbation lyin...
متن کاملAn Architecture for Implementation of Multivariable Controllers
An architecture for implementation of multivariable controllers is presented in this paper. The architecture is based on the Youla-Jabr-Bongiorno-Kucera parameterization of all stabilizing controllers. By using this architecture for implementation of multivariable controllers, it is shown how it is possible to change from one multivariable controller to another multivariable controller online i...
متن کاملOn Qft Tuning of Multivariable Mu Controllers
Optimal control involves feedback problems with explicit plant data and performance criteria for which a solution is either synthesized or ruled out. H∞ optimal control is probably the most renowned technique in this class where the control synthesis procedure involves various iterations over weightings. In this paper we argue that the integration of optimal control synthesis and manual tuning ...
متن کاملNonovershooting linear multivariable state feedback tracking controllers
We consider the use of linear multivariable feedback control to achieve a nonovershooting step response. A method is given for designing an LTI state feedback controller to asymptotically track a constant step reference with no overshoot and arbitrarily small rise time. Results are given for both minimum phase and nonminimum phase multivariable LTI systems.
