Suzaku Observation of HESS J 1825 − 137 : Discovery of Largely - Extended X - rays near
We observed the brightest part of HESS J1825−137 with the Suzaku XIS, and found diffuse X-rays extending at least up to 15 (∼ 17 pc) from the pulsar PSR J1826−1334. The spectra have no emission line, and are fitted with an absorbed power-law model. The X-rays, therefore, are likely due to synchrotron emission from a pulsar wind nebula. The photon index near at the pulsar (r ≤ 1.5) is Γ= 1.7 whi...
متن کاملChandra Observation of Psr B1823–13 and Its Pulsar Wind Nebula
We report on an observation of the Vela-like pulsar B1823−13 and its synchrotron nebula with the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The pulsar’s spectrum fits a power-law model with a photon index ΓPSR ≈ 2.4 for the plausible hydrogen column density nH = 1×1022 cm−2, corresponding to the luminosity LPSR ≈ 8×1031 ergs s−1 in the 0.5–8 keV band, at a distance of 4 kpc. The pulsar radiation likely include...
متن کاملA Multiphase Suzaku Study Of X-Rays From Tau Sco
We obtained relatively high signal-to-noise X-ray spectral data of the early massive star τ Sco (B0.2V) with the Suzaku X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) instrument. This source displays several unusual features that motivated our study: (1) redshifted absorption in UV P Cygni lines to approximately +250 km s−1 suggestive of infalling gas, (2) unusually hard X-ray emission requiring hot plasma a...
متن کاملObservation of Very High Energy Gamma Rays from Hess J1804−216 with Cangaroo-iii Telescopes
We observed the unidentified TeV gamma-ray source HESS J1804−216 with the CANGAROO-III atmospheric Cerenkov telescopes from May to July in 2006. We detected very high energy gamma rays above 600 GeV at the 10σ level in an effective exposure of 76 hr. We obtained a differential flux of (5.0 ± 1.5stat ± 1.6sys) × 10 (E/1 TeV) cmsTeV with a photon index α of 2.69± 0.30stat±0.34sys, which is consis...
متن کاملPsr B1929+10 Revisited in X-rays
We performed timing and spectral analysis for PSR B1929+10, one of the oldest (about 10 years) of the ordinary pulsars detected in X-rays, using archival ROSAT, ASCA and RXTE data. Pulsed emission was detected at a more than five sigma level for combined ROSAT PSPC and unpublished HRI data. Our pulse profile is in agreement with that obtained by Yancopoulos et al. (1994; ROSAT PSPC) but now wit...
