چکیده
Sustainable utilization of the bauxite residue (red mud) generated from alumina refining has recently increased due to environmental concerns because its high alkalinity and problematic pollutants when placed in landfills. This paper attempts review recent research findings utilizing red mud as a road material pavement structures literature, including bases asphalt mixtures. Previous laboratory investigations indicated that is feasible be used raw with satisfactory unconfined compressive strength (UCS), frost resistance durability performance, but their during service life still unclear. The incorporation mastics was found able improve stiffness, such softening point, complex modulus, viscosity. In terms mixtures, replacing limestone filler mixtures by resulted some positive effects on mechanical behaviors, bulk density good rutting resistance. However, moisture susceptibility raveling became relatively worse addition mud. Referring this overview, it necessary qualify long-term performance base materials prepared using accelerating evaluation or trials. For mud, how durability, particular resistance, will future focus. addition, influence cracking at low temperature, fatigue properties needed further explored.

A Mineralogical Assessment on Residues after Acidic Leaching of Bauxite Residue (Red Mud) for Titanium Recovery
Due to its alkalinity, red mud produced by the Bayer process may affect both the environment and human health. For this reason, its further utilization instead of disposal is of great importance. Numerous methods have already been studied for hydrometallurgical treatment of red mud, especially for the recovery of various metallic components such as iron, aluminum, titanium or rare earth element...
متن کاملUse of bauxite residue (red mud) as a low cost sorbent for sulfide removal in polluted water remediation.
Sulfide is an important pollutant in aqueous systems. Sulfide removal from polluted waters is required prior to discharge. Red mud (RM) is a solid waste of bauxite processing that is rich in reactive iron oxides and consequently has the potential to be used to remove sulfide from aqueous systems. A series of experiments was undertaken using raw and sintered RM to remove sulfide from waters. RM ...

since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...

We present new data about the chemical and structural characteristics of bauxite residue (BR) from Greek Al industry, using a combination of microscopic, analytical, and spectroscopic techniques. SEM-EDS indicated a homogeneous dominant "Al-Fe-Ca-Ti-Si-Na-Cr matrix", appearing at the microscale. The bulk chemical analyses showed considerable levels of Th (111 μg g(-1)), along with minor U (15 μ...

Sod culture is one of the important methods in establishing and repairing of turf grass, especially in sport fields. Nowadays, a mixture of sand and peat are commonly used in sod production in Iran. Because peat media is expensive, it seems necessary to find an alternative medium. Rice hull, tea waste and leaf compost as economical organic material that are available in huge loads in north of I...
