Sustainable Sources from Aquatic Organisms for Cosmeceuticals Ingredients

چکیده
Long life expectancy of populations in the developing world together with some cultural and social issues has driven need to pay special attention health physical appearance. Cosmeceuticals are gaining interest cosmetic industry as their uses fulfills a double purpose: requirements (clean, perfume, protect, change appearance external parts body or keeping them good condition) particular bioactivity function. The cosmetics industry, producing both cosmeceuticals, is currently facing numerous challenges satisfy different attitudes consumers (vegetarianism, veganism, religious concerns, safety reasons, eco-friendly process, etc.). A growing trend market products low environmental impact. Marine origin ingredients increasingly being incorporated into cosmeceutical preparations because they able address several consumer also due wide range bioactivities present (antioxidant, whitening, anti-aging, Many companies claim “Marine” distinctive marketing signal; however, only few indicate whether use sustainable ingredient sources. Sustainable marine might be obtained using wild biomass through extractive fishing activity; by adopting valorization strategies including fish discards by-products; sustainably farming culturing organisms.

Optimized Method for Isolation of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria from Hospital Aquatic Sources
Background: Aquatic ecosystems are an important source of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) that can cause different diseases in human. Since culture of mycobacteria needs long-term incubation, fast-growing microorganisms and contaminants in the environment usually prevents the isolation of mycobacteria. Here, we compare different treatment protocols and describe a method that increases the rec...

Schrödinger [Schrödinger, E., 1944. What is Life? Cambridge University Press, Cambridge] marvelled at how the organism is able to use metabolic energy to maintain and even increase its organisation, which could not be understood in terms of classical statistical thermodynamics. Ho [Ho, M.W., 1993. The Rainbow and the Worm, The Physics of Organisms, World Scientific, Singapore; Ho, M.W., 1998a. ...
متن کاملPolar Narcosis in Aquatic Organisms
The majority of industrial organic chemicals lack identifiable structural characteristics that result in specific biological activity. These nonpolar-nonelectrolytes are acutely toxic to aquatic organisms via a nonspecific mode of action termed narcosis. The toxicity of industrial chemicals eliciting nonpolar narcosis can be reliably predicted by log P (baseline toxicity models). Using single c...
متن کاملProtecting aquatic organisms from chemicals: the harsh realities.
Tens of thousands of man-made chemicals are in everyday use in developed countries. A high proportion of these, or their transformation products, probably reach the aquatic environment. A considerable amount is known about the environmental concentrations of some of these chemicals (such as metals), especially the regulated ones, but little or nothing is known about the majority. In densely pop...
متن کاملPollutants as developmental toxicants in aquatic organisms.
Pollutants, by disrupting metabolic processes, can interfere with development, and, at critical periods of development, can act as teratogens. Such interference with normal development can be used as a bioassay. Some screening tests are based on this phenomenon. As teratogens, pollutants are fairly nonspecific. Many different classes may elicit the same developmental responses. Mechanisms of te...
