This paper explores the sustainability aspects of binders used in concrete 3D printing. Firstly, a prospective approach to conduct sustainability-assessment based on life cycle printed structures is presented, which also highlights importance considering functional requirements mixes for The potential material production phase emphasized enhance 3DCP by reducing embodied impacts. literature different binder systems producing printable mixtures reviewed. review includes portland cement and supplementary cementing materials (SCMs) such as fly ash, silica-fume slag. Also, alternative geopolymer, calcium sulfo-aluminate (CSA), limestone calcined clay (LC3) reactive magnesium oxide are explored. Finally, assessment quantifying environmental impacts terms energy consumed CO2 emissions illustrated with systems. underlines effect using SCMs improving structures.
