Sustainable Development Goals In Ecovillages

In 2015 the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs ) were ratified by 195 countries. To be achieved 2030, goals aim to transform our world leaving no one behind. 2017 Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) investigated how 30 ecovillages from 5 continents already contributed UN SDGs. The results presented on 2018 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). Based GEN research outcomes, we examined 17 international Ecovillages. We aimed understand relate SDG framework. was done with Ecovillages Around World subject students. Before analysis, students became acquainted SDGs’ targets and their implications in different communities. methods web-content analysis self-assessment ecovillages’ representatives, compared. proved that studied contribute most SDGs; still, do not know or intend use indicate a communication gap between global political community local ecovillages. Both efforts support sustainable development, but there could vast differences interpretation of sustainability.
