Sustainable Development and Competition: new evidence from EU countries

In this paper we present energy efficiency targets indicators of sustainable development and discuss the role competition, on promoting enhancing sustainability pricing issues. For purpose, statistical evidence indicators, highlight degree competition electrical markets in various member states effect prices targets. The empirical results indicate that higher markets, lower prices. Furthermore, less concentrated exhibit rates greenhouse gas emissions share renewable total consumption than competitive markets. Even though do not reveal a clear-cut picture regard with indicator, EU28 countries have primary almost 1.526 Mtoe 2019 they are quite close to achieve target Europe 2020 strategy implemented by Directive 2012/27/EU efficiency.
