چکیده
To be sustainable, farmed fish should environmentally suitable, biologically ideal, socially acceptable and economically viable. As these sustainability indicators (SIs) strongly influence consumers’ purchase intent, farms report them as a balanced source of information. However, in the literature, little attention has been paid to biological assessing aquaculture sustainability, nor extent SIs. Furthermore, assessed SIs have not examined by consumers. Therefore, this study measures perceived value these. Consumers’ knowledge attitude towards farm-raised are also taken into account. Multinomial logit basic latent class models employed, together with direct survey households Bangladesh. The results demonstrate that low level water use appropriate feeding production process (e.g., environmental indicators) increase utility they willing pay price premium for attributes. Consumers look ‘safety label’, which indicates intermediately, averagely, fairly sustainable fish. Initially, consumers prefer averagely fish, but when eat high amount their total consumption, more likely ones, sustainable. indicate produced marketed indicators, including food safety labels. Additionally, close monitoring system will social acceptability, leading farming consumption.

OBJECTIVE Fish is the most important animal-source food (ASF) in Bangladesh, produced from capture fisheries (non-farmed) and aquaculture (farmed) sub-sectors. Large differences in micronutrient content of fish species from these sub-sectors exist. Puberty comprises the transition from an immature juvenile to a mature adult state of the reproductive system, i.e. the individual becomes capable of reproducing sexually for the first time, which implies functional competence of the brain-pituitary-gonad (BPG) axis. Early puberty is a major problem in many farmed fish species due to negative effects on growth performance, flesh composition, ex...
