چکیده
The European Commission adopted a long-term strategic vision aiming for climate neutrality by 2050. Lithuania ratified the Paris agreement, making binding commitment to cut its 1990 baseline GHG emissions 40% in all sectors of economy 2030. In Lithuania, main construction material is cement, even though has strong wood-based industry and abundant timber resources. Despite this, approximately twenty percent annual roundwood production from Lithuanian forests exported, as well other final wood products that could be used local sector. To highlight potential frame holds carbon sequestration efforts, concrete buildings were directly compared quantified terms sustainability across their value chains. Here concept “exemplary buildings” was avoided, instead “traditional building” design opted for, two- five-floor public selected. this study, eleven indicators selected compare impacts concrete-based materials, using decision support tool ToSIA (a impact assessment). Findings revealed glue-laminated (GLT) frames more sustainable alternative precast reinforced (PRC) low-rise they showed great promise reducing increasing CO2. An analysis environmental social shows replacement PRC with GLT would lead reduced impacts, alongside range positive impacts.

Soil Structure Interaction in the Analysis and Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete Frame Buildings
The influence of soil-structure interaction in the analysis and design of a 6-storey and basement reinforced concrete frame building is investigated. Models simulating two different conditions: namely soil-structure interaction, and fixed-base behavior are considered. The influence of the soil structure interaction in the dynamic behavior of the structure is reflected in an increase in the vibr...
متن کاملWood Frame Grammar: CAD scripting a wood frame house
This paper demonstrates a novel method to generate house designs completely from 3/4” plywood sheets. A shape grammar routine is employed to divide an initial solid shape into constructible components for fabrication by CNC wood routing. The paper demonstrates programmable functions that can be performed using CAD scripting. Future goals for the grammar are to develop CAD programs for digital f...
متن کاملPost-Earthquake Damage Inspection of Wood-Frame Buildings by a Polarimetric GB-SAR System
Structural damage inspection after an earthquake is essential for safety assessment of the affected wood-frame buildings and for making knowledgeable decision regarding their repair, renovation, or replacement. We present a polarimetric radar system for sensing the concealed wood-frames damaged by earthquakes. This system employs an antenna array consisting of four linearly polarized Vivaldi an...
متن کاملDisplacement-Based Seismic Design of Symmetric Single-Storey Wood-Frame Buildings with the Aid of N2 Method
This paper presents a new methodology for the displacement-based seismic design of symmetric single-storey wood-frame buildings. Previous displacement-based design efforts were based on the direct displacement-based design approach, which uses a substitute linear system with an appropriate stiffness and viscous damping combination. Despite the fact that this method has shown to produce promisin...
