ABSTRAK Teknologi baling-baling dikembangkan untuk menggantikan teknologi kapal layar yang memanfaatkan energi angin ataupun dayung. Poros memiliki peran besar dan secara langsung menentukan kinerja laut. Oleh karena itu, poros harus menjadi perhatian dalam sistem penggerak dirancang dirawat agar selalu berada pada kondisi baik memberikan optimal. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan inspeksi kerusakan perbaikan terhadap tail shaft survei pengedokan (special survey) dari Dorothy IMO 9821251 menurut standar Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) setelah beroperasi selama 5 tahun. Selain itu juga evaluasi dampak perawatan telah shaft. Dari diketahui bahwa penyebab terjadi terutama disebabkan gesekan antara bantalan intens serta diperburuk dengan pelumas air laut membawa kotoran garam bersifat abrasif korosif. Uji performa proses hasil baik. Kenaikan temperatur saat berputar di variasi kecepatan putaran masih bawah maksimum direkomendasikan. Celah terbentuk sangat sehingga tidak ada terbawa oleh pelumasan masuk ke celah bantalan. Dampak positifnya terlihat kenaikan melampaui batas toleransi gerakan lebih stabil timbul getaran melebar.Kata kunci : kapal, perawatan, baling-baling.
