چکیده
Abstract Background Transverse acetabular fractures, although classified as elementary, have worse outcomes than other types of fractures. Prognostic factors for this fracture type are not clearly established. This study aimed to assess the surgical transverse fractures and subtypes thereof investigate prognostic factors. Methods Between 2014 2019, 39 patients (39 hips) had or thereof. We reviewed evaluated patient factors, injury in relation osteoarthritis (OA) conversion total hip arthroplasty (THA). Additionally, we analyzed cutoff values postoperative residual gaps steps. Results Twenty-three male sixteen female with a mean age 41.7 years (range, 18–78 years) were included. There 29 satisfactory reductions (74.4%). Eleven hips (28.2%) developed OA, five (12.8%) them underwent THA. Dome impaction (odds ratio [OR], 41.173; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.804–939.814; p = 0.020) (OR, 4.251; CI, 1.248–14.479; 0.021) correlated poor outcomes. Residual (≥3 mm) steps (≥1 significantly associated OA. Conclusions Relatively reduction was found However, rates OA THA high. wide identified risk The development increased if gap step more 3 mm 1 mm, respectively.

Resistant tuberculosis is an important public health problem in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 1,582 smear positive tuberculosis patients registered with the National Tuberculosis Program during 2007 in Makassar, Indonesia, to assess risk factors associated with poor tuberculosis treatment outcomes. Of the 1,582 patients, 265 had a poor treatment outcome...
متن کاملDoes hospital surgical volume affect in-hospital outcomes in surgically treated pelvic and acetabular fractures?
A retrospective evaluation was done to determine the relationship between hospital volume and in-hospital mortality, complications, and length of stay in patients with operatively treated fractures of the pelvis or acetabulum. Patients were divided into three groups based on hospital volume. High volume centers had higher percentages of patients with one or more comorbidities, but who were less...
