چکیده
Polyaryletherketones (PAEK) are high-performance plastics with excellent mechanical properties and high thermal resistance used, e.g. as material for implants. Their molecular structure gives them a level of chemical inertness but prevents bonding adhesive interactions other materials integration into body tissue. Using the example poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK), we show novel synthetic routes wet-chemical modification surface to create reactive carboxylic amino groups. In first approach, ketone functionalities PEEK molecules were reduced hydroxy groups subsequently esterified acids. dicarboxylic acids, one acid group was bonded covalently while provided free acidic functionalities. second modified in step by reaction diamine, creating primary on surface. All products analyzed powerful combination sensitive X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) advanced infrared spectroscopic methods.

Local deformation behavior of surface porous polyether-ether-ketone.
Surface porous polyether-ether-ketone has the ability to maintain the tensile monotonic and cyclic strength necessary for many load bearing orthopedic applications while providing a surface that facilitates bone ingrowth; however, the relevant deformation behavior of the pore architecture in response to various loading conditions is not yet fully characterized or understood. The focus of this s...

Defects on the craniofacial complex may result in aesthetic defects, functional damage, and psychologic consequences. Previously, surgeons showed no interest in reconstructing the operated area, but in the treatment of the problem, leaving bone contour is a secondary issue. Nowadays, area reconstruction with post-reestablishment of contour and local shape has become one of the surgeon's priorit...

The fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, and graphene have enriched the family of carbon allotropes over the last few decades. Synthetic carbon allotropes (SCAs) have attracted chemists, physicists, and materials scientists because of the sheer multitude of their aesthetically pleasing structures and, more so, because of their outstanding and often unprecedented properties. They consist of fully conju...

Despite its widespread clinical use in load-bearing orthopedic implants, polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK) is often associated with poor osseointegration. In this study, a surface-porous PEEK material (PEEK-SP) was created using a melt extrusion technique. The porous layer was 399.6±63.3 μm thick and possessed a mean pore size of 279.9±31.6 μm, strut spacing of 186.8±55.5 μm, porosity of 67.3±3.1% ...

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK), a high-performance semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer, has been employed to replace the metallic implant components in orthopedics. There were various studies performed in accordance to medical grade PEEK, but the relationship between titanium dioxide (TiO2)-coated PEEK, TiO2-blended PEEK, and untreated PEEK still remains complicated, eve...
