چکیده
Surface downward longwave radiation (SDLR) is a key component of the Earth's energy budget. To use new-generation geostationary satellite data with high spatial and spectral resolution for SDLR estimation, we developed clear-sky algorithm based on multi-channel brightness temperature (BT) precipitable water vapor (PWV), named as MBTW, strictly clear conditions, atmospheric parameters (named NewAtmos) probably conditions. Then, framework to estimate all-sky SDLR; combined two algorithms an existing cloudy-sky algorithm. Finally, SDLRs were calculated using proposed FY-4A GOES-16 data. The validation results against field measurements indicated that MBTW NewAtmos performed well under expected had RMSEs 24.8 W/m2 18.3 data, which comparable those derived single parameters; former portrayed better consistency than latter. RMSE instantaneous method 24.6 20.1 they 23.7 hourly SDLR. from showed accuracy ERA5 at same resolution, also yielded more details variation atmospheric-parameter-based algorithm, because high-resolution thermal infrared (TIR) BT was used in our method. Furthermore, PWV, cloud liquid path ice produced very similar therefore, conditions missing parameters, can be alternative achieve continuous estimation.

Hourly Global Radiation Prediction from Geostationary Satellite Data
The possibility to generate 2-D predictions of solar radiation one hour ahead and over a large geographic area is the focus of this study. In that view, hourly satellite maps of irradiations extracted from the Heliosat-3 have been used as training data and inputs of artificial neural networks (ANN) and as inputs for apersistence model. These models were computed for each point of the map, allow...

The motion of properly selected clouds derived from photographs taken by the geostationary Advanced Technology Satellites provides estimates of the wind a t cloud level. A large number of lowand high-cloud motions near rawin stations are compared to the balloon-derived winds to determine the levels at which these wind estimates might be used for map analyses and to assess their accuracy a t tho...

A good understanding of the diverse mechanisms in the atmosphere is required in modelling the climate. In this study, the diurnal and seasonal patterns of all-sky downward longwave radiation (DLR) at Ilorin (8o 32l N, 4o 34l E), Nigeria were investigated alongside relative humidity (RH) and temperature. The average diurnal pattern of DLR gives an arc that begins by increasing gradually with som...

[1] Several studies have suggested enhanced rates of warming in high-elevation regions since the latter half of the twentieth century. One of the potential reasons why enhanced rates of warming might occur at high elevations is the nonlinear relationship between downward longwave radiation (DLR) and specific humidity (q). Using ground-based observations at a high-elevation site in southwestern ...
