چکیده

Abstract Context Over the last two decades, there have been development of approaches that are minimally invasive but achieve maximum effective results with minimal morbidity. The supraorbital keyhole approach (SOKHA) through transciliary incision is permits management skull base lesions injury to soft tissue and surrounding brain. Aims aim this study was evaluate efficacy safety SOKHA for lesions. Settings Design This a prospective in tertiary neurosurgical teaching institute metropolitan city. Materials Methods Twenty-one patients various pathology were operated using “eye-brow incision.” pathologies included pituitary adenoma, craniopharyngioma, epidermoid, tuberculum sella, planum sphenoidale meningioma. authors describe detail surgical employed by them these pathologies. Results All neoplastic series could be addressed effectively near total or excision. No fresh postoperative deficits noted except case who developed ipsilateral anterior cerebral artery infarction resulted lower limb weakness. One patient abscess requiring At follow-up, all revealed cosmetic scar hidden eye brow. Conclusions an procedure proven anterior, selected middle provide excellent cosmesis trauma adjacent authors, however, feel it technically demanding surgeons should employ stepwise progression from simple more complex

Supraorbital eyebrow approach to skull base lesions.

We report our experience with a supraorbital eyebrow minicraniotomy. This technique is suitable to lesions situated in the region of the anterior fossa, suprasellar cisterns, parasellar region and Sylvian fissure. A 50 mm incision in the eyebrow and a supraorbital minicraniotomy is performed. Sixteem patients harboring different lesions were operated on with good postoperative and cosmetic resu...

Supraorbital keyhole approach for anterior circulation aneurysms.

AIM Supraorbital keyhole approach provides access to the major part of the anterior circulation aneurysms. Herein, our surgical experience of supraorbital keyhole approach and its some modification have been proposed. MATERIAL AND METHODS Out of a series of 76 patients harboring 80 aneurysms operated on via a supraorbital keyhole approach with a superciliar or front wrinkle skin incision, the...

Minimally invasive transfrontal sinus approach to resection of large tumors of the subfrontal skull base.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS To review our favorable experience with a minimally invasive transfrontal sinus approach to tumors of the subfrontal region. STUDY DESIGN Retrospective review in a tertiary care referral practice. METHODS Patients undergoing anterior skull base surgery by the senior author (Y.D.) were reviewed and transfrontal sinus approach patients selected for review. All cases of t...

Minimally invasive surgery of the anterior skull base: transorbital approaches

Minimally invasive approaches are becoming increasingly popular to access the anterior skull base. With interdisciplinary cooperation, in particular endonasal endoscopic approaches have seen an impressive expansion of indications over the past decades. The more recently described transorbital approaches represent minimally invasive alternatives with a differing spectrum of access corridors. The...

Minimally Invasive Multiport Surgery of the Lateral Skull Base

OBJECTIVE Minimally invasive procedures minimize iatrogenic tissue damage and lead to a lower complication rate and high patient satisfaction. To date only experimental minimally invasive single-port approaches to the lateral skull base have been attempted. The aim of this study was to verify the feasibility of a minimally invasive multiport approach for advanced manipulation capability and vis...
