Supramolecular Assembly of Conjugated Polymers under Vibrational Strong Coupling

Strong coupling plays a significant role in influencing chemical reactions and tuning material properties by modifying the energy landscapes of systems. Here we study effect vibrational strong (VSC) on supramolecular organization. For this purpose, rigid-rod conjugated polymer known to form gels was strongly coupled together with its solvent microfluidic IR Fabry–Perot cavity. Absorption fluorescence studies indicate large modification self-assembly under such cooperative VSC. Electron microscopy confirms that case, morphology is totally different from observed absence coupling. In addition, kinetics are altered depend vibration The results compared kinetic isotope effects help clarify parameters These findings VSC valuable new tool for controlling assemblies broad implications molecular sciences.
