A teenager with left ventricular dysfunction complicating chronic incessant supraventricular tachycardia is described. He was unusual in his delayed presentation to hospital, despite having come to medical attention several years previously, and he showed an excellent response to flecainide.

The patient underwent transcatheter radiofrequency ablation. There were no complications and 8 months after the procedure the patient was symptom free without medication.

A severe case of flecainide-induced incessant ventricular arrhythmias is presented. These arrhythmias were resistant to various intravenous antiarrhythmic drugs and to cardiac pacing. Intravenous amiodarone administered over a short period and in a high dose strikingly abolished all ventricular arrhythmias.
