Suppression of First Sideband Switching Harmonics Using DC–DC Converters With an Advanced Modulation Scheme

The common dc-bus concept has become an attractive solution for future aircraft electrical power systems. This article considers the case where a battery connected dc–dc converter and permanent magnet generator ac–dc are supplying dc bus. Applying proper modulation scheme converters, suppression of first-band harmonics ( $f_{c} \pm 3f_{0}$ ) from can be achieved. proposed harmonic essentially uses fact that two sinusoidal waveforms with phase shift notation="LaTeX">$\pi $ will counteract to each other. For engine driving generator, fundamental frequency notation="LaTeX">$f_{0}$ is time-varying dependent on speeds. normally derived resolver some measurement error expected. To ensure effectiveness scheme, enhanced pulse width (PWM) compensation been implemented every cycle when rotor position detected zero crossing. validated by experimental results selected -3f_{0}$ component one converter.
