Superhydrophilic surface modification of fabric via coating with cysteic acid mineral oxide

نویسندگان

چکیده

Cysteic acid functionalized mineral oxide nanoparticles can be used to impart superhydrophilic performance on a range of woven and non-woven fabrics. Woven fabrics spray dip coated alumina iron based cysteic nanoparticles, were characterized by SEM, EDX the change in water contact angle was measured or where increased hydrophilicity sufficiently great that time for adsorption droplet measured. Fabrics showed remarkable increase upon coating with although alumina-based materials performed better than homologs. Untreated spunlace polypropylene (contact = 147.5°) shows greatest after CAMO treatment absorption 15 ms.

Multifunctional Surface Modification of Mulberry Silk Fabric via PNIPAAm/Chitosan/PEO Nanofibers Coating and Cross-Linking Technology

Multifunctional mulberry silk fabrics with excellent temperatureand pH-sensitivity, antibacterial properties and permeability are successfully prepared by surface modification with PNIPAAm/chitosan/poly(ethylene oxide) nanofibers. The nanofibers deposited on the surface of mulberry silk fabric are produced by the electrospinning technique. The surface properties of mulberry silk fabrics were ch...

Surface Modification of PET Fabric by Graft Copolymerization with Acrylic Acid and Its Antibacterial Properties

Graft copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA) onto Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fabrics with the aid of benzoyl peroxide was carried out. The effect of polymerization parameters on the graft yield was studied. Percent grafting was enhanced significantly by increasing benzoyl peroxide (BP) concentrations up to 3.84 g/lit and then decreased upon further increase in initiator concentration. Pr...

Alumoxane/ferroxane nanoparticles for the removal of viral pathogens: the importance of surface functionality to nanoparticle activity.

A bi-functional nano-composite coating has been created on a porous Nomex® fabric support as a trap for aspirated virus contaminated water. Nomex® fabric was successively dip-coated in solutions containing cysteic acid functionalized alumina (alumoxane) nanoparticles and cysteic acid functionalized iron oxide (ferroxane) nanoparticles to form a nanoparticle coated Nomex® (NPN) fabric. From SEM ...
