چکیده
Micro-pillars oriented in austenite along [100], [110], and [111] crystallographic directions were fabricated on the corresponding edges of a single crystalline plate Ni48Fe20Co5Ga27 magnetic shape memory alloy exhibiting martensitic transformation (MT) at 150 K. Superelastic behavior pillars, due to micro-compression-induced MT, was investigated different temperatures from 298 K 373 At room temperature, Young’s moduli pillars are equal 5.3 GPa, 7.9 9.9 respectively, resulting linear dependences elastic strain reaching up record-breaking value 10%. On increasing stress–strain dependencies exhibit changes that interpreted terms critical approaching end points martensite–austenite stress–temperature phase diagrams.

Thermoelectric behavior near the magnetic quantum critical point
We use the coupled two-dimensional spin–three-dimensional fermion model proposed by Rosch et al. @Phys. Rev. Lett. 79, 159 ~1997!# to study the thermoelectric behavior of a heavy-fermion compound when it is close to an antiferromagnetic quantum critical point. When the low-energy spin fluctuations are quasi-twodimensional, as has been observed in YbRh2Si2 and CeCu62xAux , with a typical two-dim...
متن کاملRelaxing near the Critical Point
Critical slowing down of the relaxation of the order parameter has phenomenological consequences in early universe cosmology and in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. We study the relaxation rate of long-wavelength fluctuations of the order parameter in an O(N) scalar theory near the critical point to model the non-equilibrium dynamics of critical fluctuations near the chiral phase transit...
متن کاملand near the critical point
We have extended our method of grouping of Feynman diagrams (GFD theory) to study the transversal and longitudinal Greens functions G ⊥ (k) and G (k) in ϕ 4 model below the critical point (T < T c) in presence of an infinitesimal external field. Our method allows a qualitative analysis not cutting the perturbation series. We have shown that the critical behavior of the Greens functions is consi...
متن کاملPlasticity of Nano- and Micro-pillars
We review unique mechanisms of plastic deformation in nanoand micropillars. At the nanoscale, it is shown that plastic deformation is asymmetric with respect to direction of mechanical loading, as a result of specific relationships between the normal and resolved shear stress on active slip planes. This is attributed to the dependence of shear wave speed on the stress state acting on slip plane...
