چکیده

For improving the hydrolytic stability of sulfonated polyimides consisting five membered anhydrides, novel (NSPIs) were prepared via polymerization 3,3?,4,4?-benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA), with a diamine monomer pendant sulfonic acid group and 4,4-oxydianiline. Water uptake this NSPI an excellent film-forming ability was almost equal to that Nafion® 117, while their ion exchange capacity (IEC) 22% higher than 117. The loss in weight decreased by 53% IEC 66% compared 117; both used quantitatively measure stability, radical oxidative also increased 75% when Mechanically, superior, its proton conductivity 117 at elevated temperatures. All these improvements due introduction group. Taken together, we herein report promising renewable energy source based on SPIs capable displaying enhanced hydrophilicity.

A new supramolecular sulfonated polyimide for use in proton exchange membranes for fuel cells.

Uracil-terminated telechelic sulfonated polyimides (SPI-U) were transformed into noncovalent network membranes through biocomplementary hydrogen bonding recognition in the presence of an adenine-based crosslinking agent. SPI-U membrane exhibited dramatically improved methanol permeability, oxidative stability, proton conductivity, and selectivity relative to those of the standard SPI.

A new supramolecular sulfonated polyimide for use in proton exchange membranes for fuel cellsw

Nonfluorinated polymeric materials are attracting increasing attention as alternatives to perfluorinated polymer membranes, such as Nafion or Aciplex, for use as proton exchange membranes (PEMs) in fuel cells, because of their advantages in terms of cost, monomer toxicity, ease of synthesis, and structural diversity. Although nonfluorinated PEMs can achieve high proton conductivities when they ...

Nafion-layered sulfonated polysulfone fuel cell membranes

Sulfonated polysulfone (SPSU) with high ion exchange capacity (IEC) and ion conductivity was synthesized through deep sulfonation of polysulfone using the trimethysilyl chlorosulfonate as sulfonation agent. The silicon-containing compounds formed during the synthesis of SPSU were completely removed from the SPSU by simple evaporation. Water swelling, ion exchange capacity, conductivity and fuel...
