چکیده
Introduction: Acute recurrent purulent pericarditis is an uncommon pericardium infection that can be life-threatening due to pus production, leading cardiac tamponade. Case presentation: We report a 36-year-old man referring our hospital with impending tamponade who needed urgent pericardiocentesis. The patient's complaints were worsening dyspnea and palpitations in the last two days. patient had been hospitalized for same complaint pericardiocentesis approximately three weeks earlier. Physical exam, ECG, CXR suggest Echocardiography indicated massive right left pericardial effusion atrial collapse. Covid-19 screening test was positive; however, RT-PCR revealed negative result. diagnosed acute requiring After procedure, 1.5 million units of intrapericardial fibrinolytic administered patients. His improved hemodynamic clinical symptoms indicate successful procedure. Conclusion: This case highlights challenges managing Staphylococcus A. current pandemic era, including distinguishing it from other contagious diseases nonspecific dyspnea, limited therapeutic options, effectiveness improving overall conditions, reducing mortality rate.

Intrapericardial fibrinolysis in purulent pericarditis—case report
Purulent pericarditis (PP) continues to result in a very serious prognosis and high mortality. The most serious complication of pericarditis is constriction. Intrapericardial administration of fibrinolytic agents, although controversial, can prevent the development of constrictions. We present the case of a 63-year-old man with purulent inflammation of the right knee who was admitted to the int...

Purulent pericarditis remains a life-threatening pathology. There is no consensus on its medicosurgical management. Nevertheless, total pericardiectomy eradicates focus of infection and provides a better outcome than simple pericardial drainage. Because of high morbidity, intrapericardial fibrinolysis has been considered as a less invasive approach for prevention of persistent and constrictive ...

Bacterial pericarditis is a rapidly progressive and highly fatal infection, and is often diagnosed postmortem in half of the cases. Even with drainage and antibiotics, the mortality rate is high. Gram-positive cocci, specifically Streptococcus penumoniae, have been the most common cause of bacterial pericarditis with a preceding primary site of infection. Following the introduction of antibioti...

Purulent pericarditis (PP) is a potentially life-threatening disease. Reported mortality rates are between 20 and 30%. Constrictive pericarditis occurs over the course of PP in at least 3.5% of cases. The frequency of persistent PP (chronic or recurrent purulent pericardial effusion occurring despite drainage and adequate antibiotherapy) is unknown because this entity was not previously classif...

88 subcostal retractions were present. Jugular venous pressure and cardiac examination was normal except for the cardiomegaly which was revealed on percussion. X-ray chest revealed enlarged cardiac shadow with cardio-thoracic ratio of 0.80 suggestive of pericardial effusion. 2D Echocardiography confirmed the presence of pericar...
