چکیده
Abstract Wildfires are increasing in size and severity fire seasons lengthening, largely driven by climate land-use change. Many plant species from fire-prone ecosystems adapted to specific regimes corresponding historical conditions shifts beyond these bounds may have severe impacts on vegetation recovery long-term persistence. Here, we conduct a meta-analysis of field-based studies across different types regions investigate how post-fire recruitment, reproduction survival affected fires that occur outside the season. We find season lead decreased particularly obligate seeding species. Conversely, general increase resprouting Our results highlight trade-offs exist when considering effects changes seasonal timing fire, an already present aspect climate-related regime

Cajander larch (Larix cajanderi) biomass distribution, fire regime and post-fire recovery in northeastern Siberia
Climate change and land-use activities are increasing fire activity across much of the Siberian boreal forest, yet the climate feedbacks from forest disturbances remain difficult to quantify due to limited information on forest biomass distribution, disturbance regimes and post-disturbance ecosystem recovery. Our primary objective here was to analyse post-fire accumulation of Cajander larch (La...

Since our hunter–gatherer ancestors began to develop agriculture more than 10,000 years ago, farmers have been battling with Nature to protect their cultivated plants against pests and diseases. Organisms from all kingdoms of life—from mammals and insects to bacteria, fungi and viruses—are attracted by the easy pickings that large fields of plants represent, and farmers have sought to contain t...

Fire has become more extensive in recent decades in southwestern United States arid lands. Burned areas pose management challenges and opportunities, and increasing our understanding of post-fire plant colonization may assist management decision-making. We examined plant communities, soils, and soil seed banks two years after the 2005 Loop Fire, located in a creosote-blackbrush community in Red...
