Subscapularis Tear Repair Arthroscopic vs Open Surgery

چکیده
Background: The largest rotator cuff tendon, the subscapularis, rotates glenohumeral joint internally. This study's objective was to compare arthroscopic versus open technique outcomes in subscapularis tear repair. Methods: prospective study comprised 30 patients who had a and needed either or surgery for done Benha university hospitals Ahrar teaching hospital from November 2020 February 2023. Patients were split into 2 groups: Arthroscopic group: 15 treated by surgery. Open with Results: group higher percentage of combined tears affected right side more often, while isolated left often. postoperative pain, but fewer complications than group. Preoperative clinical assessments showed substantial changes among groups concerning constant score, UCLA results belly press test. positive tests lift off after operation. two similar terms post-surgical duration follow up. Conclusions: In motion range functional results, treatment may be preferable While there are still rare cases when repair makes sense, particularly options restricted.

Short term results of arthroscopic repair of subscapularis tendon tear
Abstract Background: Despite being the largest rotator cuff tendon of the shoulder, the function and clinical relevance of subscapularis pathology has been largely ignored in the literature. Although many studies have focused on subscapularis tears recently, majority of them reported techniques for open repair. The advent of arthroscopy and arthroscopic repair techniques has opened ...
متن کاملArthroscopic repair of subscapularis tear: Surgical technique and results.
INTRODUCTION Arthroscopic management of extensive subscapularis tendon lesions was reported more recently than for the supra- and infra-spinatus tendons. Extensive tears create technical problems requiring an extra-articular approach. The few results so far reported have been encouraging. STUDY DESIGN Surgical techniques adapted to each type of tear according to our subscapularis lesion class...

Tears of the subscapularis tendon have been significantly recognized as a source of shoulder pain and dysfunction in the past decade, thanks to arthroscopic evaluation of the shoulder and biomechanical and anatomical studies of the tendon. Current classification of subscapularis tendon tear is based on insertion site of the tendon. Recently, a classification for non-insertional types of subsc...
