چکیده
The essential goal of this research is to evaluate the modification process on phase transformation, matrix chemical composition, and precipitated carbide types for modified SAE-AISI T1 steel their effects hardness values after optimum heat treatment conditions. This adopts alloying design strategy enhance one most important tools coded (T12001). Therefore, two enhancement processes took place through partial or total tungsten replacement. Investigated was first addition vanadium then carbon. Substitute 5 wt steel. % with 1 wt. vanadium, in carbon content, varied from 0 %. fulfill goals work, Thermo-Calc software utilized get following: (i) thermodynamic equilibrium information, (ii) expected microstructure, (iii) constituent volume fraction, (iv) composition. composition phases confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX). In addition, fractions different constituents were estimated using authenticated imaging analysis process. experimental findings variations eutectic carbides precipitated, e.g., MC M6C carbides, agree well calculated findings. Tungsten replacement without extra at traditional encourages formation instead M6C, M23C6, M7C3 carbides. carbon-modified contains more carbon, chromium, but less compared vanadium-modified Vanadium gamma-austenite. Hardness measurements emphasized that a promising material its use as tooling low content and, turn, produces cutting-tool materials economical cost.

Effects of Austenitizing Conditions on the Microstructure of AISI M42 High-Speed Steel
The influences of austenitizing conditions on the microstructure of AISI M42 high-speed steel were investigated through thermodynamic calculation, microstructural analysis, and in-situ observation by a confocal scanning laser microscope (CSLM). Results show that the network morphology of carbides could not dissolve completely and distribute equably in the case of the austenitizing temperature i...

Abstract: The possibility of vanadium carbide coating formation on AISI L2 steel was studied in molten salt bath containing 33 wt% NaCl- 67 wt% CaCl2. In this research, the effects of time, temperature and bath composition on growing layer thickness were studied. The vanadium carbide coating treatment was performed in the NaCl-CaCl2 bath at 1173, 1273 and 1373 K temperatures for 3, 6, 9 hours a...
متن کاملAn evaluation of heat partition in the high-speed turning of AISI/SAE 4140 steel with uncoated and TiN-coated tools
In manufacturing by machining, thermal loads on cutting tools can have a major influence on tool wear and hence process cost, especially at higher cutting speeds. An investigation has been undertaken to determine heat partition into the cutting tool for high-speed machining of AISI/SAE 4140 high-strength alloy steel with uncoated and TiN-coated tools. The cutting tests have been performed at cu...
