Study on Temperature Correction of Asphalt Pavement Deflection Based on the Deflection Change Rate

The pavement deflection measured by falling weight deflectometer (FWD) detection equipment can be used to determine the bearing capacity of a structure through modulus backcalculation provide suggestions for maintenance. However, because asphalt mixtures are temperature-sensitive materials, they greatly affected temperature, and changes in temperature cause their mechanical properties vary affect structural capacity. Therefore, this paper conducts test on an in-service highway at different temperatures seasons. representative layer was determined comparative analysis. temperature’s effective influence distance basin found, more suitable correction model established. results showed that middle depth is as layer. range 90 cm. change rate before after radial 20 cm appropriate basin.
