Study on Electrochemical Behavior of Oxidized Pyrite in Alkaline Electrolyte

Nowadays, refractory gold ore production around the world accounts for about 30% of total production, and low leaching rate such concentrate seriously limits efficient utilization resources. The alkaline preoxidation process can improve this kind deposit has good development application prospects. Therefore, it is great significance to study oxidation dissolution behavior pyrite in an environment. In paper, gold-bearing electrolyte was studied using electrochemical techniques, products a electrode solution were characterized XPS, SEM, other analytical methods. results show that optimum pH oxidative 12, potential should be above 0.8 V. pyrite, part S element enters forms Sx2−, S2O32−, SO32−, SO42−, small amount adsorbed on surface form S0 becomes passive layer. Fe Fe(OH)2, Fe2O3, Fe2(SO4)3, which become main components passivation This provides theoretical basis reference data chemical treatment sulfide ores.
