Study on debris flow monitoring in Mt. Fuji

چکیده
The Osawa River, which has its headwaters at the top of Mt. Fuji, one largest failure in Japan, Failure, uppermost part catchment. Failure produces more than 100,000m 3 sediment every year by erosion and collapse, causes debris flows slash avalanches. Since opening 1970, Fuji Sabo Office been observing dynamics River through field surveys, observation equipment aerial photogrammetry, laser survey, Japanese pipe hydrophone. In 2021, since start observations occurred twice March August. 21 flow, 416,000m flowed down from 482,000m was deposited alluvial fan. August 18 421,000m Our CCTV cameras, rain gauges, other installed indicate that rainfall characteristics during two were different, conditions for differed depending on season.

Elevational Patterns in Archaeal Diversity on Mt. Fuji
Little is known of how archaeal diversity and community ecology behaves along elevational gradients. We chose to study Mount Fuji of Japan as a geologically and topographically uniform mountain system, with a wide range of elevational zones. PCR-amplified soil DNA for the archaeal 16 S rRNA gene was pyrosequenced and taxonomically classified against EzTaxon-e archaeal database. At a bootstrap c...
متن کاملExperimental study on the rheological behaviour of debris flow
A model able to describe all the processes involved in a debris flow can be very complex owing to the sudden changing of the material that turns from solid into liquid state. The two phases of the phenomenon are analysed separately referring to soil mechanics procedures with regard to the trigger phase, and to an equivalent fluid for the postfailure phase. The present paper is devoted to show t...
متن کاملAcoustic module of the Acquabona (Italy) debris flow monitoring system
Monitoring of debris flows aimed to the assessment of their physical parameters is very important both for theoretical and practical purposes. Peak discharge and total volume of debris flows are crucial for designing effective countermeasures in many populated mountain areas where losses of lives and property damage could be avoided. This study quantifies the relationship between flow depth, ac...
متن کاملSystems and Sensors for Debris-flow Monitoring and Warning
Debris flows are a type of mass movement that occurs in mountain torrents. They consist of a high concentration of solid material in water that flows as a wave with a steep front. Debris flows can be considered a phenomenon intermediate between landslides and water floods. They are amongst the most hazardous natural processes in mountainous regions and may occur under different climatic conditi...
متن کاملA debris-flow monitoring devices and methods bibliography
Debris-flow monitoring has two functions, warning and modeling. The warning function includes the following parameters: occurrence prediction and detection, proximity sensing, and discharge-estimation. The parameters obtained from debris-flow measurements can deduce a numerical model for creating a hazard map and designing various types of control structures to mitigate the hazards. Many device...
