چکیده
Objective: Investigate the expression of procalcitonin (PCT) in children infected with Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), and its correlation to number white blood cells (WBC), neutrophil/ lymphocyte count ratio (NLR). The current study included sixty (60) patient suffering from acquired community aged range between one year larger than 6 years, gander (30) female male Childs Al Zahara Teaching Hospitals Najaf Provenance , during November 2020 – M arch 2021. control Child without any symptoms or criteria our results show a significant increment (p<0.05) total leukocytes, Neutrophils, N/L ratio, lymphocytes (10⁹/L) PCT level Pneumonia patients group compared respectively, non-significant (p>0.05) different biomarker child patients. Serum demonstrate statistically elevation (p <0.05) among age (1-3 y) when compare other ages.

The Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Count Ratio in Patients with Community-Acquired Pneumonia
STUDY OBJECTIVE The neutrophil-lymphocyte count ratio (NLCR) has been identified as a predictor of bacteremia in medical emergencies. The aim of this study was to investigate the value of the NLCR in patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). METHODS AND RESULTS Consecutive adult patients were prospectively studied. Pneumonia severity (CURB-65 score), clinical characteristics, complica...

Background The expression of CD64 in neutrophils (nCD64) has shown utility in the diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of neutrophil CD64 in pneumonia as an early marker for infection and correlate its level with the outcome of...
متن کاملRole of the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Count Ratio in the Differential Diagnosis between Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Bacterial Community-Acquired Pneumonia
BACKGROUND Differential diagnosis between pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and bacterial community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is often challenging. The neutrophil-lymphocyte count ratio (NLR), a convenient marker of inflammation, has been demonstrated to be a useful biomarker for predicting bacteremia. We investigated the usefulness of the NLR for discriminating pulmonary TB from bacterial CAP in an i...

AIMS To assess the sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value of procalcitonin (PCT) in differentiating bacterial and viral causes of pneumonia. METHODS A total of 72 children with community acquired pneumonia were studied. Ten had positive blood culture for Streptococcus pneumoniae and 15 had bacterial pneumonia according to sputum analysis (S pneumoniae in 15, Haemophilus influenzae b i...

Background: Mycoplasma pneumoniae is one of the causes of upper and lower respiratory tract infections especially in children, and antibiotics affecting the cell wall do not affect this type of infection. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae and macrolide resistance in children with community-acquired pneumonia in Kerman city. Methods: This cross-sectional study...
