چکیده

Candida spp., are saprophytic yeasts capable of creating a favorable environment for bacterial infection, amplifying or inhibiting their activity. On the other hand, bacteria produce molecules that reduce proliferation spp promote adherence to surfaces. The resurgence typhoid and paratyphoid fevers in endemic individuals relative effectiveness contemporary conventional therapies arouse curiosity explore factors may influence, re-emergence infection patients. We carried out cross-sectional study 2500 patients four hospitals city Douala, Cameroon, from January December 2019, determine influence on onset these infections Widal Felix test was used form sample, culture specific media microscopy confirmed identity Salmonella typhi, paratyphi spp. Biochemical tests classic tube gallery revealed biochemical characteristics bacteria. results showed with S. typhi is predominant, 32.76 % versus 18.4 infection. Infection would increase 4-5 times frequency paratyphi, respectively 3.08 26.03 %, 7.08 %. presence increases risk reoccurrence

Molecular Typing of Salmonella paratyphi B and Salmonella paratyphi C Isolates from Clinical Samples in Iran

Background & Objective: Molecular typing is an important tool in surveillance and outbreak investigations of human Salmonella infections. In this study, Subtyping of Salmonella Paratyphi B and C isolates derived from Iranian patients was carried out by RAPD-PCR to assess the extent of genetic diversity of these isolates. Materials & Methods: Fourteen Salmonella isolates including 6 strains of S...

Salmonella paratyphi C: Genetic Divergence from Salmonella choleraesuis and Pathogenic Convergence with Salmonella typhi

BACKGROUND Although over 1400 Salmonella serovars cause usually self-limited gastroenteritis in humans, a few, e.g., Salmonella typhi and S. paratyphi C, cause typhoid, a potentially fatal systemic infection. It is not known whether the typhoid agents have evolved from a common ancestor (by divergent processes) or acquired similar pathogenic traits independently (by convergent processes). Compa...

Cloning and sequencing of ompf Salmonella typhi Salmonella ompf gene in Escherichia coli Origami

Background and Aim: Salmonella Typhi belongs to the family Enterobacteriaceae, gram-negative bacilli and causes gastrointestinal diseases such as typhoid. This bacterium has a special structure and various genes, including the ompf gene (outer membrane protein). Recent studies have shown the possibility of using ompf in the development of a diagnostic tuberculosis vaccine. Therefore, the aim of...

Multiplex PCR for the concurrent detection and differentiation of Salmonella spp., Salmonella Typhi and Salmonella Typhimurium

Salmonellosis outbreaks involving typhoid fever and human gastroenteritis are important diseases in tropical countries where hygienic conditions are often not maintained. A rapid and sensitive method to detect Salmonella spp., Salmonella Typhi and Salmonella Typhimurium is needed to improve control and surveillance of typhoid fever and Salmonella gastroenteritis. Our objective was the concurren...

Neonatal sepsis due to Salmonella Typhi and Paratyphi A.

Sepsis due to Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi and Paratyphi A is rare in neonates. Though described as a mild and unrecognized illness in infants, life-threatening complications and even deaths have been reported. We present five cases of neonatal septicaemia due to S. Typhi and S. Paratyphi A. The cases were presented because of their interesting clinical presentations and possible modes of ...
